Indonesia Contemporary Art and Design (ICAD) 2018: Kisah

Themed “Kisah” or “Stories”, the ninth Indonesia Contemporary Art and Design (ICAD) held in grandkemang Hotel. ICAD 2018: Kisah is featuring works from 50 creative artists and designers. The works displayed in the form of artists’ track records in a certain period, as well as stories about an event or thought that are relevant to the present and future context. ICAD 2018: Kisah curated by Hafiz Rancajale and Harry Purwanto.

Two members of Forum Lenteng, namely Otty Widasari and Andang Kelana also participated in the exhibition. Otty exhibited three oil painting works entitled “YANG MELIHAT KEHADIRAN” or “Ones Who Looked at the Presence” (2018), while Andang presented “20 YEARS OF NOTHING” (2018) which was the result of his research on Gamelanoink; street punk music group formed since 1998. On the opening night on October 18, 2018, Agus Nuramal (PM Toh) presented a performance work on the creation of “Adam”. Besides his performance works, he also exhibited “KISAH BENDA-BENDA PM TOH” or “The Stories of PM Toh’s Objects” (2018). There are also archival works from The Jadugar (videography) and White Shoes and The Couples Company (music). Through “Kisah”, Hafiz and Harry present various cross-disciplinary works of art.

Twenty-five sketches and drawings entitled “Proyek Pasar Minggu” from Milisifilem Collective for the first time are also exhibited in ICAD 2018: Kisah. This project has been running since June 2018, the participants of the Mawar and Melati class of Milisifilem Collective intensively explore the Pasar Minggu with charcoal and Chinese ink on A3 paper. The participants then made a “certificate” for this “Proyek Pasar Minggu” in a wider paper size based on the works that had done previously. Twenty-five sketches and drawings with various dimension from A3 to A0 were selected for the exhibition.

ICAD 2018: Kisah takes place until November 30, 2018.
