“No News for Today” dan “DOLO” competed in Festival Film Dokumenter 2021

Two films produced with Forum Lenteng, No News for Today (2019) and DOLO (2021) competed in Festival Film Dokumenter Jogja 2021.

No News for Today was produced through Akademi ARKIPEL 2020. Akademi ARKIPEL is an annual program of Forum Lenteng to facilitate the exchange of knowledge between communities and individuals who are enthusiastic about films. In 2020, they decided to hold their activities online. This film is a collaboration of 9 communities who were challenged to record the pandemic in their respective locations. The result of this endeavor was selected in the International Feature-length Documentary competition in FFD Jogja.

This film is a collaborative work between nine collectives and communities; Gubuak Kopi (Solok, West Sumatra), ManiaCinema (Pekanbaru, Riau), Milisifilem Collective (DKI Jakarta), Liga Film ITB (Bandung, West Java), Belangtelon (Surabaya, East Java), Komunitas Pasir Putih (Winner, North Lombok) NTB), Sindikat Sinema (Samarinda, East Kalimantan), Sinekoci + Klub Penonton (Palu, Central Sulawesi), and Yoikatra (Timika, Papua). From a total of 27 hours, 30 minutes, 40 seconds of recording, this is a 75 minute film.

DOLO is a collaborative work between Hafiz Rancajale as director with Dhanurendra Pandji, I Gde Mika, Luthfan Nur Rochman, and Yuki Aditya. This film was selected in the Indonesian Feature-Length Documentary competition program at the 2021 Jogja Documentary Film Festival. This year, FFD held online and offline screenings.

The screening of DOLO was held at Kedai Kebun Forum, November 23, 2021, attended by the entire film crews. The screening took place at 15.00 WIB. The screening room capacity, which amounts to approximately 25 seats, is fully filled. The film was about 2,5 hours long. After the screening, a discussion session was held, guided by Alia Damaihati. One of the audience, Nindityo Adipurnomo expressed his opinion about this film, which according to him has dramatic skills in compiling a series of interviews in the film. Members of DOLO’s production team conveyed their respective opinions during the discussion. The discussion ended around 18.30.
