After conducting filmic images presentation in several meetings, and then learning about montage, the third batch of Milisifilem (Anggrek) drew sketches with china ink. Anggrek Batch has made some series of sketches, such as: Forum Lenteng series, the flyover of Tanjung Barat series, the plants series and the last one is filmic montage sketch series. Consisting of 10 participants, the class has previously made individual sketches before finally moved to group sketches for the last sketch series. The aim is collectivism. Every group had to draw 20 sketches. Each of them had their own theme: “Teman-Teman Makan”, “Theo Vakansi” and “Aku dan Orang-Orang Sekitar”.
The first group consisted of Andra, Ufik and Melisa with “Teman-Teman Makan” as their theme. They documented moments of eating: the menu, the people who eat and their companion. The second group consisted of Theo, Ule and Vian with “Theo Vakansi” as their theme. The idea was about how they perceive an event and situation from a subjective point of view. Their sketches attempted to experiment with space and auditive elements. The last group consisted of Julie, Niskala and Onyong with “Aku dan Orang-Orang Sekitar” as their theme. Their sketches attempted to document the moments around them, by subjective selection process considering the complex elements in a story.
The presentation of filmic montage sketch was held along with Akademi ARKIPEL 2019 agenda, taking place at Villa Athaya, Puncak, Bogor. Between the activities during Akademi, Anggrek Batch documented the moments and framed it in A4 paper. The way of framing which determined the complexity of the sketches could construct the sketches to be filmic. The finished sketches were lined up on the floor and arranged as a montage of events. Each group presented their composition to the participants of the Akademi ARKIPEL 2019. “All of these works are good! All of you get A +,” Bang Hafiz said.
